The Old Thirteenth Cheshire Astley Volunteer Rifleman Corps Inn

 

Here I am outside the pub with the longest name according to The Guinness Books Of Records. It's in central Stalybridge and is called The Old Thirteenth Cheshire Astley Volunteer Rifleman Corps Inn.

 

The pub used to be about a mile away on Astley Street, a more residential area, but it closed in 2016. If you scroll down you'll photographs of it as it used to be and now. The blue plaque and pub sign are still there. The original long sign had been chucked on a pile for burning but it was saved and is now in Bridge Beers in Stalybridge. Nowadays the pub is close to The “Q” with is in the record books for the shortest name.
