Spitfire Memories

One of my friends is a photographer and I was browsing through his website and found a photograph he’d taken of an old soldier holding a flag at what looks like a war remembrance day. I thought, “Mmmm I could do something with that.” So here it is in oils.

I changed the flag to a Union Jack and made it appear to be catching the breeze a little. I thought the sky was a little vacant so I put a distance Spitfire in it. I also added a few white crosses in the background. Thanks for the inspiration veggie brother Sean (www.seanaidan.com)
