You Were Much Easier To Love For The First Few Years

I take someone's big dog on lung-bursting walks while his owner goes shopping (left in the house the dog eats the furniture.) We walk two laps of the local park. Most people nod or chat but recently I passed a couple in their forties who were so deep in a heated conversation they didn't notice me. The woman was rebuking the man and I heard her say, "You were much easier to love for the first few years." The man's face deflated as the corners of his mouth turned down. I've shown this in the line going through the painting.

Here is an abstract painting with the same name. It was done in a few minutes using small trowels and thick paint. I put some tape along the perimeter to form a border then filled the middle with a gloop of thick sludge in various colours. This can be on the wall in your billiard room yours for £48,000 + £2.99 postage.
