Supernova Heights (Noel Gallagher’s former home)

When money starting pouring in from albums and tours the Oasis members were soon wealthy. Noel Gallagher bought this Victorian five storey three-bedroom semi-detached house in Hampstead in North London and named it after the band’s 1996 Champagne Supernova single. While staying around the corner I decided to go and have a look (I’d passed by above five years ago.) Apart from the green hedges and cars outside, nothing had changed. Thankfully it’s not been butchered into flats.

Noel pursued a life of hedonistic in the nineties at “Supernova Heights”. House parties lasted from dusk until dawn and drunken guests were regularly seen spilling out of this house. The Press waited outside most of the time. The residents got tired of the parties, “funny smells” and packs of photographers waiting outside.

Noel’s drug-taking “back to mine for a party” days didn’t last long. He lived here with his then-wife Meg Mathews but they relocated to Buckinghamshire in 1999. They sold it to Hollyoaks actress Davinia Murphy. In 2005 David Walliams bought it for £3.2m. Unfortunately he obliterated the Victorian features and went for a white contemporary “autopsy room” look. He mustn’t have liked it as he soon sold it. The last time it was up for sale the asking price was £5.3 million.
